EmpowerART —Visual Voice for Girls—is a 12 week course for girls 8-12 years old. During this course, the girls will utilize both visual art and creative writing techniques to tell their stories—past, present and future. The girls will begin with self-portraits and vision boards that imagine the futures they would like to have. They will bind their own books and will write or draw their stories in them. In teams, they will create a digital animation of the stories they want to tell.

This class will be held from 1:00-2:30 on the following Saturdays, Oct. 18 & 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 & 22; Dec. 6, 13 & 20; Jan. 3 & 10. The closing exhibit will be January 16, 2026 at LexArts, 161 N. Mill Street; Lexington, as part of Gallery Hop.
