LITTLE ART BIG HEARTS
Beginning in spring 2026 and annually thereafter, Gallery 645 disappears behind a thousand small paintings. Little Art Big Hearts is Kids Place Lex’s annual community benefit exhibition—a ten day event in which students from Lexington-area schools paint 8” x 8” canvases that are displayed edge-to-edge across every wall of Gallery 645 at 190 Jefferson Street. Works are sold to benefit Kids Place Lex programs, with a donation going back to the schools’ art funds. Every canvas represents a child’s vision, voice and interior world.
In 2026, fourteen schools contributed nearly 1400 canvases and more than 425 people attended across the ten-day run. The exhibition was covered by WLEX Channel 18 and Fox 56.
Among the 1400 canvases, one stopped everyone cold. A Lexington school child painted a sunset, two silhouettes and these words: “Paint the world the way you want it with the people you want in it.” That is what Little Art Big Hearts is about.
Schools interested in participating in Little Art Big Hearts 20276 are encouraged to contact us early. Participation is free for all schools and students.
Little Art Big Hearts returns in May 2027.
