OUR STORY
Kids Place Lex was founded by artist and attorney Constance Grayson, who spent years practicing family law, working directly with children moving through Kentucky’s foster care system. In courtroom after courtroom, she watched children who had lost stability, continuity and often their sense of self. She also watched what happened when those children were given a brush, a canvas or a block of clay.
They came alive.
Kids Place Lex is her answer to what she witnessed—a place where foster and other at-risk children are not defined by their circumstances but by what they can create. Since opening our doors in Fall 2024, we have grown from a single program into a full suite of arts, storytelling, dance and music experiences, all provided at no cost to children or their families.
